My First Sheep and Wool

May 7, 2012

My first Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival was a blast.

The day started with witnessing 55 knitting ladies (sisters?) on the bus. The trip was organized by Knitting Sisters LYS. Thank you for a fun smooth ride.

There was plenty of entertainment for kids. Petting sheep and alpacas, watching shearing, listening to story tellers (they were great!), eating hot dogs and ice cream, rolling down the hill and running. In fact, we spent about four hours doing just kids stuff. After 3 pm it cooled down and crowd went home. Shopping became really enjoyable – we had full access to booths, could ask vendors our questions, and didn’t have to wait a line. Some wonderful ladies let my daughter try to spin, and put the yarn around her wrist as a bracelet. She got to touch all kinds of soft pretty fiber, look in every mirror, and has been treated with a lollipop twice.

We can’t wait for the next year to go there again!
