Pumpkin Hat is Up!

September 17, 2010

Pumpkin Hat is published by Knit Picks and now available in extended sizes up to adult size!

And as I promised, here is my baby going to preschool in her new dress with a bunch of letters.

Preschool Time! Pumpkin Time!

September 15, 2010

My little baby Anna is starting preschool tomorrow. I can’t believe she is that old! She is very excited about it! She can’t wait to wear her First Grade socks and Letter Dress (pictures coming soon). I am taking it not that well, about to have a heart attack actually… I packed change of clothes and healthy snack for her. My husband said, ‘It’s a full lunch’.  Her little sister is going to be jealous, and I probably will have to carry her crying after we drop Anna at the preschool.

I received a letter from Knit Picks that my Pumpkin Hat is accepted for publication. It will come now in sizes to fit 13 inches (premie) to 23 inches (adult) head circumference. The pattern provides instructions for flat knitting and circular knitting. It is tech edited as well. I am very excited. Here is the preview (my youngest is the model this time):

First Grade

September 8, 2010

No, my daughters are not starting school yet. First Grade is my new pattern that is freshly published by Petite Purls.

I had a hard time taking pictures of my daughter, because she kept jumping and shaking the ruffles on her socks. She can’t wait for preschool to start – she wants to wear her socks!

The Fall Is Almost Here!

September 5, 2010

The Fall is almost here. Which means that Back to School issue of Petite Purls is almost here as well! I have a design in it, and just saw the preview. The issue is fabulous! I can’t say more, please, check the issue right after Labor Day. Right after.

Petite Purls is an online knitting magazine full of free patterns for children. There are also articles and craft projects. Don’t forget to check their archives.

Attention Football Fans!

August 29, 2010

My new pattern for football fans has been released. It is Six Points Hat offered in a wide range of sizes from Baby to Man. You can accessorize your entire family and have fun at a game, tailgating, or just showing  support of your team. The pattern is tech edited and test knitted.

I wore this hat myself last winter, and I have to admit that I needed that fun, it kept me from going insane. We had a lot of snow last winter. And it was cold. For a couple of months. And I am from Urals. And it did not help. Well, enough complaining. Please meet my new design – Six Points Hat.

Inside Out

August 20, 2010
Inside Out is my new pattern just published by Knit Picks as a part of Independent Designer Program. Inside Out is a celebration of tweed yarn. Simple stockinette pattern shows off the entire beauty of it. Wooden buttons enhance tweed’s traditional natural look. The vest is worked from the bottom up as one piece. Inside Out features decorative stitching and seaming on the right side of the garment. Stitching is worked in a contrast color that matches speckles on the yarn. Shaping is done after the body is finished. Shaping can be customized for any kind of body.

OBX and new pattern

July 8, 2010

We spent a week at the beach. It was fun! Girls loved the beach and everything there. They were crying for 40 minutes on our way back. Anna was a perfect child, she went to bed easily, ALMOST did not fight with other children, and helped a lot in the kitchen. Sasha was a little more difficult, but overall they matured on the trip. Other than beach and swimming pool, we went to a pier, to Oregon Inlet to see fishing boats bringing their catches, and we went to see cottages being swallowed by the ocean. I also got a great chance to test my camera. Happy that I had a few days to have a rest from the trip before I went back to work.

While I was on vacation, my new Strawberry Top pattern was published by Knit Picks. It was very nice to come home and see it published.
